The Porcupine Jive
My friend told me a not-so-funny story about a generations-old cabin still in his family and a porcupine who liked to nom-nom on the wood beneath the porch.
“The Porcupine Jive”
To the tune of “The Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats
It’s 4 o’clock in the morning
I haven’t slept a wink
A Porcupine is under the porch
And he’s eating the house again
Hey! I know that you hear me
I’m coming after you
And even if you try to run away
Soon you’ll be singing the blues
I will pounce
(Pounce)
Come on boys get your long arm
There’s no time to delay
Get the buckshot out or whatever you got
We’re gonna’ make him pay
Say, you can run if you want to
We’ll find you anywhere
Either under the porch or behind a tree
We’ll shoot you in the derriere
And say, we will pounce, we will pounce
Pounce like a cat on a mouse
We will pounce, we will pounce
Pounce like a cat on a mouse
We will pounce, we will pounce
Everybody get your gun
We will pounce, we will pounce
The Porcupine’s day is done
The day is done, days are done
The day is done
The Porcupine’s day is done
[BREAK ]
You might think I’m demented
Actually quite fermented
The keg’s still in sight been drinkin’ all night
Let’s go get the dynamite
It’s 4 o’clock in the morning
We haven’t slept a wink
A Porcupine is under the porch
And he’s eating the house again
And say, we will pounce, we will pounce
Pounce like a cat on a mouse
We will pounce, we will pounce
Pounce like a cat on a mouse
We will pounce, we will pounce
Everyone get your gun
We will pounce, we will pounce
The Porcupine’s days are done
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
The Porcupine Jive
