High School Friends
This came to mind after reading a comment today on Facebook from one of my high school friends.
To My High School Friends
Though friends and family on new journeys embark
The years aren’t lost, they remain in your heart
All of the adventures and all of the fun
Those are the memories that can’t be undone
Pondering the past can be melancholy
I’d do it all over, and make several copies
One for each friend, I’d keep tucked away
To save some sunshine for a rainy day
It’s my friends from high school I think about most
So right here and now I offer this toast
To my high school friends, some near some far
I’m not naming names, you know who you areYou helped shape my life and we learned the ropes
The parties at my parents house sure were dopeSo much to say but I’ll leave it here
And raise a mug, of ice-cold beer
I love my friends and hold them all dear.
Here’s hoping your days are filled with cheer.
Pretty sure we rivaled the parties they had on Thachrer’s Hill!
Thank you for visiting Poetic Whisper!
